Dr. Michael S. Firstenberg, who has a thoracic surgery board certificate, is currently working as a cardiac surgeon at Summa Akron City Hospital in Ohio.
Dr. Firstenberg is also working as an assistant professor at Northeast Ohio School of Medicine. He studied medicine at Case Western Reverse University, faculty of Medicine and completed his internal medicine study in Cleveland University Hospitals and his thoracic surgery assistance at Ohia State University. He also received advanced training of heart failure at the Cleveland Clinic.
ECMO has always been a passion of Dr. Firstenberg. He has given lectures all around the world and has published in more than 100 peer-reviewed journals, most of which are associated with ECMO. In addition, he is an active member of many professional associations, clinical research projects, professional quality and development committees, and multi-disciplinary committees.
